Assists in the development and delivery of training programs and initiatives to support Fairfax County Public Library staff. Develops and maintains knowledge of best practices in adult professional development and training. Partners with subject matter experts to identify and research individual development needs aligned with long-term strategic direction and competencies. Facilitates a variety of tailored programs that promote team building. Coordinates activities for training projects and committees. Works individually and in team-based environments. Acts as a liaison for training issues. Travels to various work sites throughout Fairfax County to accomplish the goals and objectives of the library's training department. Performs other duties as may be assigned to further the goals and objectives of the Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL). Works under the direction of the Organizational Development Manager.

The selected applicant's starting hourly rate will be in the minimum to midpoint range ($26.8219 - $35.7625) of the advertised compensation range. Compensation rules apply per Fairfax County Personnel Regulations for current Fairfax County Government and Fairfax County Public Schools employees.
Schedule: Scheduling flexibility is imperative. Occasional overtime may be required.

Presents or coordinates the presentation of various training modules such as supervisory development, staff skills training, Zenger-Miller and other programs either independently or as a member of a team;
Researches available training programs and seminars;
Coordinates development of program materials;
Participates in the cataloging of courses and where appropriate, coordinates their presentation;
Collects and assists in the analysis of evaluations of training programs;
Develops and maintains a knowledge of adult learning theory.- Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of adult learning theory;
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
Ability to present training programs;
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with peers and other county employees;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in education, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field; plus one year of professional experience in needs assessments, facilitating team-building exercises, course evaluation analyses, and/or course development and course delivery.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Strong customer service skills and attention to details.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience facilitating meetings and trainings in person and online using videoconferencing platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom.
- Experience working in a library and/or educational setting.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suites to include Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to operate keyboard driven equipment. Must communicate with others. Must have ability to move chairs and tables for set-up of training. Must have ability to travel to various work sites throughout Fairfax County. Physical requirements are applicable to all duties. Visual acuity is required to read data on computer monitor. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
