Description
Implements an Algebra 1 summer program for rising grade 8 students; utilizes best practices in teaching to achieve curriculum goals; manages student behavior; follows pre-designed lessons to increase student's content knowledge for Algebra 1; facilitates Project-based Learning; maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, and policy; attends mandatory in-person and / or virtual training provided prior to and during the session.
Qualifications
Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Endorsement in Mathematics or Middle Education Mathematics and experience in teaching middle school curriculum and or Algebra 1 endorsement, preferred. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.
