Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree.
- Four (4) years of experience in counseling or teaching.
- Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
- Postgraduate educational license with endorsement(s) in school counseling or in administration and supervision PreK-12.
- Knowledge of school counseling techniques, programs, and practices.
- Knowledge of adolescent psychology, growth, and development.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of the high school philosophy and current curriculum and instructional trends.
- Knowledge of master schedule development.
- Ability to assign, supervise, oversee, and evaluate a staff of school counselors and support personnel.
- Ability to gain the confidence of students, families, and professional staff and foster cooperation.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
