Description
JOB SUMMARY:
You would have the opportunity to build and utilize your accounting and information technology skills helping departments across the organization in problem-solving and implementing productivity improvements. In addition, you would be an integral part of the financial team handling assigned tasks and providing information to senior management, and the Board of Directors to meet company goals and create solutions that may positively affect the entire community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Learn and perform various accounting functions, both routine and ad hoc including month-end close.
- Provide worksheets and schedules for financial auditors during year-end audit.
- Review and reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
- Develop and utilize reports, inquiries and processes in Northstar Club Management software (Northstar).
- Work with all departments to improve processes and troubleshoot Northstar issues and other impediments.
- Work with Northstar support to identify, describe and correct issues as they arise.
- Develop documentation of process steps that can be used by others with little familiarity with the process.
- Train and assist others with utilizing improved processes.
- Utilize Sage Fixed Asset software to track capital items and depreciation.
- Assist with the development, loading and reporting against the corporate budget.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems or related area
- Understanding and usage of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong research and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Includes the ability to manipulate large spreadsheets using Pivot Tables and Index/Match functions and create/revise VBA macros.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment and interact with multiple departments.
- Cooperative with a positive attitude and desire to assist others.
- Self-starter, attentive to detail, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to acquire needed information from various sources.

Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems or related area, accounting experience helpful.
