JOB SUMMARY:
Oversee Wastewater operations. Supervise and direct entire operation following Community Club policies and procedures, including onsite lab, applications and 4 wastewater plants. Maintain appropriate records and reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plan and prioritize all functions for the Wastewater department.
- Give instructions to supervisory and clerical personnel.
- Maintain correspondence related to department projects and regulations.
- Conduct performance reviews on contract projects.
- Personally ensure all financial responsibilities relative to operation of the department is met and is in accordance with reasonable and sound business practices; including preparation of annual operating budget, monthly analysis of actual costs vs. budget, approval of all charges to department and capital expenditures, control of fixed assets assigned to departments, annual inventory of all assigned fixed assets and recommendations for cost curtailment and cost reduction.
- Hire and terminate Wastewater staff positions.
- Monitor continuous compliance in all regulated areas.
- Perform employee reviews of supervisory and office staff.
- Direct and assist Wastewater Superintendent in employee evaluations.
- Ensure staff is trained properly and proper certification is maintained.
- Control inventory (ordering and verifying).
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend staff and Open Board Meetings.
- Attend other special meetings as assigned.
- Provide technical consultation and guidance with department managers and Community Club Staff.
- On call as needed for other duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of arithmetic.
- Organizational skills
- Ability to deal in a positive and professional manner with all types of individuals. (Including employees, hourly and salaried, property owners, City officials and general public).
- Ability to express oneself clearly and effectively both orally and in written form.
- Ability to delegate projects effectively
JOB SPECIFICATION/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma, College degree or equivalent technical education preferred.
Experience: 5 years Management of Wastewater Operations.
Certification/License: Arkansas Wastewater Class IV
Working Conditions: Office environment, outside exposure to Community Club facilities, pools and Wastewater plants and construction sites and injury exposure.
Mental Requirements: General verbal, math and motor skills
Physical Demands: Speaking, listening, sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, carrying, grasping, reaching, pulling, pushing and lifting.
