What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rough Mill Machine Operator position at Fairfield Chair Company?
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Preparing the machine and equipment before they are used
- Performing a good operation of any kinds of heavy equipment
- Proficient use of equipment required by job function
- Read, Understand and complete all internal forms and documents(Equipment specification, Factory Orders, Etc)
- Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary
- Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences
- Read and comprehend instructions before starting building process
- Maintain effective, professional, courteous and respectful communication with supervisor and other team members.
- Effectively and safely use of the rip saw machines
- Effectively and safely use of the planer machines
- Effectively and safely use of the glue reel machines
- Effectively and safely use of the glue press
- Follow all departmental objectives, standards or directions
- Ensure proper placement of tools at the end of each shift.
- Keep work place safe, clean and organized
Qualification requirements
- S. Diploma/GED preferred
- Relevant industry experience preferred or equivalent manufacturing experience
Physical demands and abilities
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, reaching
- Able to lift 50 pounds, repetitively
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects
