What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welt Upholster position at Fairfield Chair?
Education Requirements:
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA/GED PREFERRED
Work Environment:
NON-CLIMATE CONTROLLED PRODUCTION FLOOR, ABLE TO LIFT 50 LBS OCCASIONALLY, Prolonged periods of standing, bending, reaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pull next piece available in line-all supplies, cushions and backs are already with the piece.
- Conduct initial inspection to assure cover matches ticket on piece, including cushions and backs
- Assure that grain runs straight, no lumps, holes, or cat tracks
- Permanently attaches the fabric with staples
- Must maintain high quality standards while achieving production goal
- Prior to starting on piece, re-check to assure all parts in piece are correct. If not reject.
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend for 8 hours or more daily. Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers and eyes to assemble upholstered furniture
- Able to use common upholstery tools such as air powered staple guns, mauls, hammers, scissors, regulators, brass nail guns, tack pullers, glue gun etc
- Ability to use all common upholstery tools to perform traditional outside upholstery of leather and fabric furniture of various styles
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment according to department safety guidelines
- Any other duties assigned by a member of the Management Team.
