This position provides supervision to the Finance Team under the direct supervision of the Budget Manager. Maintains agency fiscal and administrative internal controls per protocols, in consultation with Budget Manager and Deputy Director of Finance. Refines and updates protocols for monitoring agency internal controls. Provides guidance on computer systems. Trains new and current employees. Conducts staff meetings, training sessions, and assists in interviewing employees and prospective employees.35% Supervision of Finance Team under direct supervision of the Finance Budget Manager. Supervises (i.e., assigns work, completes performance evaluations, approves leave, recommends disciplinary action) for Eligibility Workers, Fiscal Specialists and related positions. Provides guidance on computer systems. Trains new and current employees. Conducts staff meetings, training sessions, and assists in interviewing employees and prospective employees.
25% Assists with Agency contracts and in the preparation and processing of requests for proposals (RFP’s). Initiates use of contract templates and monitors contracts to ensure accuracy in available funding and proper invoicing is complete. Maintains budgetary spreadsheets and reviews proper coding and issuance of each contract. Serves as point of contact for all parties of each contract, internal program staff, State and Prosecutor’s office, and each vendor.
25% Maintains agency fiscal and administrative internal controls per protocols, in consultation with Budget Manager and Deputy Director of Finance. Refines and updates protocols for monitoring agency internal controls. Conducts internal agency monitoring reviews and audits to assure compliance with internal controls, Federal laws and regulations, Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code
5% Completes and forwards reports, forms and case files concerning the Finance Team. Maintains the Finance Team's request tracker but typing and approving tickets that need to be processed. Attends meetings and serves on teams to enhance the delivery of services to the agency clients.
5% Attends staff meetings, conferences, workshops, etc., to gather and exchange information to remain current in regulations, procedures and techniques.
5% Meets regularly with Deputy Director of Finance and Budget Manager to discuss policy and procedure regarding departmental operation. Makes sound decisions in area of emergency situations. Handles complaints and resolves problems and promotes good public relations. Performs other related duties as required.- Completion of undergraduate major core coursework in accounting, finance, financial
management or like academic field that included at least three courses in accounting
and one course in finance.
- Or two courses or twelve months experience in accounting, two courses or twelve
months experience in finance, one course or six months experience in business
administration, one course or six months experience in written communication for
business, one course or six months experience in public relations, and one course or
six months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing to include generating
a spreadsheet.
Or education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum
Qualifications stated above.
