The Parent Education Facilitator is responsible for delivering educational programs that support parents and caregivers in developing effective parenting skills and enhancing child development. This role involves facilitating group classes, workshops, and one-on-one sessions, providing parents with valuable information, strategies, and resources to promote healthy family dynamics, positive child behavior, and overall well-being. The Parent Education Facilitator will also collaborate with community partners and resources to ensure families have access to the tools and support they need. This position works closely with the Parent Education Coordinator to ensure successful implantation of parent education classes in Fairfield County. Key Responsibilities:
- Providing evidence-based parenting services and support in the community via multiple formats (group, one to one, in-person, virtual).
- Complete all facilitator reports in a timely manner.
- Conduct intakes for all families referred to parental education and ensure all pre and post surveys are completed.
- Distribute required paperwork and/or materials to class participants.
- Maintain highly effective education practices, building group cohesion and rapport with individual participants, ensuring positive outcomes for all parents in each group
- Share community resources with families.
- Work in conjunction with the Parent Education Coordinator to participate In community outreach.
- All other tasks assigned by the Manager.
- Ability to work with families of various backgrounds and cultures.
- Minimum of one year experience in a professional work environment.
- Minimum of one year experience in customer service.
- Associates degree in early childhood education, child development or related field is preferred.
- Preferred background working with children
- Valid Operator's License
- Working knowledge of local community resources
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and formal presentation
- Computer and internet literate.
- In consultation with the Council Manager, ability to manage required reporting and grant requirements
- Must be willing to work some evenings.
