What are the responsibilities and job description for the WIC Nutrition Assistant position at Fairfield County Ohio?
Under general supervision, completes general office duties (i.e., data entry, file management, answers phones, etc.) and performs clinic work including anthropometric measurements and finger stick blood samples. Assess clients for WIC program eligibility to participate in program, both at the main site in Lancaster and at the Pickerington site.
- Greets clients who enter clinic for services; verifies appointment; assures orderly clinic flow; obtains information from clients (e.g., income, birth date, pregnancy information, etc.); completes or assists in the completion of forms.
- Weigh and measure clients; performs hematocrit/hemoglobin/lead blood tests; plots growth charts.
- Enters participant and clinic data; loads benefit onto WIC Nutrition Card and explains their use to clients.
- Answers the telephone, assists clients, schedules appointments, sends appointment notices to clients.
- Prepares and maintains order within the waiting area; assists in keeping clinic equipment in working order.
- Packs and transports equipment and materials needed at satellite clinics.
- Performs routine office tasks (e.g., filing, photocopying, pull/return files, etc.); assists other staff in the performance of their tasks as workload dictates and as directed by the WIC Director and/or Health Commissioner.
- Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
- Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
