The award-winning Fairfield Inn & Suites Historic Eagle Cotton Mill is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual with knowledge/experience of bar and event operations to join our team!

This is a newly created leadership position within the hotel that comes in tandem with our renovation of the 1884 Bar and growing need for specialized in person servicing of our events at the hotel.

Overview
Assist in managing the day-to-day activities of all hotel Food and Beverage outlets and events inside and outside of the hotel to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize hotel profitability

Duties

  • Manage day-to-day bar operations, including inventory, training, and customer service.
  • Ensure all F&B staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions and collaborate with the General Manager on annual and 90-day reviews.
  • Work with General Manager to create and update food and beverage and drink menus, taking into account seasonal offerings and customer preferences to be reviewed and approved by General Manager.
  • Collaborate with General Manager to develop and implement strategies to increase bar food and beverage sales and profitability and review bar financial performance compared to budget and last year with management weekly.
  • Collaborate regularly with the General Manager and Sales Team to review upcoming event needs and coordinate event needs between departments, assist with set-up and breakdown of F&B events where needed.
  • Completes or assists bar staff with preparation of all food and beverage offerings as needed.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departments management.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol services of all hotel F&B spaces.
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily. This includes ordering and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on hotel occupancy projections and the daily functions sheet.
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks and bar food offerings. Presents drinks and food offerings using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control. Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages and food served.
  • Receives cash and processes credit cards from guests, makes change as needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed to balance all moneys
  • Secures and stores all beverage, food and other equipment, deposits cash drops and secures bank
  • Cross train across other departments to assist as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities
  • Ability to work the hours required; to include nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain all licensing and certification required by state and local law
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
