BREAKFAST ATTENDANT
DEPARTMENT: Food Production
REPORTS TO: General Manager
STATUS: Non-exempt, Hourly
Summary
The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving all food items while displaying an appealing and appetizing breakfast buffet for our guests in accordance with Marriott standards. Our breakfast attendants are also responsible for overseeing and ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation compliance, and food safety procedures in the kitchen and work areas while minimizing waste and maximizing cost/production ratio.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to stand during entire 8 hour shift with 2 intermittent 15 minute breaks.
Preferences
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Experience serving and or preparing food preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and display all breakfast buffet items according to North Star Lodging Management & Marriott standards during each shift.
- Complete necessary station preparations and food prep prior to the opening of breakfast in order to ensure that guests are served promptly upon arrival.
- Follow and regularly use Production Charts as specified by North Star Lodging Management/Marriott standards.
- Maintain a high standard of service oriented customer service with all guests at all times.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the hotel menus and the required preparation every day.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and hotel storage areas.
- Operate and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment and maintain a Clean As You Go Policy.
- Breakdown breakfast and kitchen area storing food and equipment properly at the end of each meal period.
- Assist with regular food and beverage inventories.
- Know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment.
- Manage the storage and rotation of food items according to hotel policy and procedure.
- Attend meetings as required by management.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
