A day in the life:
· The Front Desk Log will be reviewed for any unusual situations or conditions. The outgoing Front office Clerk should also be asked about any situations which may have been omitted from the log.
· Post all telephone, food, and miscellaneous charges to the guest folios.
· Ability to stand and move throughout the Front Office area and continually perform essential functions.
· Review all check-out folios to ensure a zero balance and that approval codes have been posted for all credit card vouchers.
· Follow established procedures for night audit. Systems vary from property to property.
· Review the next day’s reservations and ensure that all appropriate information is included. Place any reservations with discrepancies noted in front of the guest ledger bucket to be reviewed by the Front Office Manager in the morning.
· Prepare the Housekeeping/Rooms Status Report.
· At the end of the shift, prepare a Shift Reconciliation Report and count the cash in the drawer. The Front Office Manager or designee must verify and record the deposit in the Shift Deposit Log. The deposit is then dropped into the locked safe.
· Write into the Front Desk Log any information pertinent to the next shift.
· Review the general situation and any unusual circumstances with the morning front desk clerk.
· Note any messages or mail in the message/mail slots and ensure that the message light has been turned on for the appropriate room.
· Check the front desk for cleanliness and order.
· Once a week all reservations for a one-month period in the bucket should be removed and checked against the reservations control system for accuracy.
· Other duties as assigned
Skills you’ll need:
· High School Diploma or GED preferred.
· Prior hotel front desk/night audit experience preferred.
· Ability to stand/walk for entire shift.
· Lift up to 25lbs regularly, lift up to 40lbs occasionally.
· Ability to follow written or verbal instructions
· Ability to follow safety procedures.
Benefits and Rewards:
Part-time (as needed, up to 28 hours/week) positions available. Starting wage is $16.00/hr. Fulltime employees are eligible for health, dental and vision insurance; basic life and AD&D insurance; paid-time-off and holiday pay.
