Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant General Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for the hospitality industry, and a commitment to staff development.
Responsibilities
- At least 5 years progressive experience in a Rooms or Hotel; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 to 3 years experience in a Rooms or F&B department at a Hotel
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Must be proficient in Fosse , MGS.
- Guest Satisfaction & Quality: Maintain top 10% Guest Satisfaction scores within the chain, a minimum 4-star rating on travel sites, ensure clean rooms, extraordinary customer service, and prompt resolution of guest complaints.
- Safety & Security: Implement and enforce all safety and security procedures to protect employees, guests, and the building, including a viable key control program and emergency/accident protocols.
- Financial Management: Administer and control hotel revenue and expense budgets, analyze P&L and General Ledger statements, and submit timely P&L Variance Reports and Budgets.
- Operational Leadership: Directly lead housekeeping and front desk operations, ensuring efficient processes and high performance.
- Sales & Revenue Management: Facilitate lead management, provide sales support, track leads and results, maintain key account relationships, assist with sales calls, and maximize room revenue through inventory management.
- Payroll & Administration: Review and approve hotel payroll, transmittals, and other front office paperwork. Authorize direct bill accounts and monitor Accounts Receivable.
- Team Management & Development: Hire, train, counsel, motivate, and conduct performance appraisals for all team members, including management. Administer employee benefit programs.
- Guest Services & Relations: Ensure proper handling of guest special requests, solicit guest feedback, monitor comment cards, and proactively address concerns to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Property Maintenance & Quality Control: Inspect rooms, develop and maintain quality assurance programs, and ensure preventative maintenance is performed.
- Communication & Reporting: Conduct regular team and sales meetings, respond to supervisor requests, and provide regular follow-up.
Qualifications .
- Experience: 1-3 years in a supervisory role in hospitality.
- Education: High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in Windows-based programs, strong organizational and time management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Flexibility: Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 30 lbs., and stand/walk for extended periods.
