Job Description:
The Storeroom Assistant is responsible for processing orders for hospital supplies and equipment while focusing on cost containment strategies. Processes returns and recalls as needed. Responsible for managing and sourcing alternative products during shortages.
- Will assist with monthly inventory of storeroom, coolers, and freezers. Which will include the total count of supplies on hands.
- Coordinates corrective action in a timely manner when problems are identifies: i.e., shortages, invoice concerns, damaged product.
- Organizes and maintains a safe and clean working environment.
- Maintains consistent communication with cooks to ensure proper par levels of food is maintain, and to make sure all leftover product is being utilized.
- Follow proper receiving and storage guidelines. (FIFO)
- Inspects and validates all deliveries against invoices.
- Uses a probe thermometer, to check the internal temperature of 3 refrigerated food items is at or below 40 degrees and frozen food is at or below 0 degrees. All temperatures will be logged daily on the receiving log.
- Will maintain a product rejection log to document any return products. The rejection log will be given to the Executive Chef weekly.
- Received by dates on all incoming product.
- Organize and clean stock and supply areas per master cleaning list.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years buyer experience preferred.
Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often.
