Fairfield Veterinary Hospital is excited to announce an opening for a full-time veterinarian due to the growth of our practice. We are looking for a passionate, compassionate individual to join our small, close-knit team and provide exceptional care for our patients. Whether you're an experienced vet or a new graduate, we are eager to meet candidates who are eager to grow alongside us!
About Us
Location: Fairfield, CT, a vibrant college town along the beautiful Connecticut shoreline. Our practice is in the heart of town, just a short walk from numerous restaurants, shops, and the MetroNorth train station (only 1 hour to NYC!). We’re also less than a mile from the beach!
Facilities: Our practice features 2 exam rooms, one surgical suite, a treatment area with a dental table, and digital radiographs. We offer ultrasound and therapeutic laser therapy as part of our services.
Patient Base: We primarily serve small animals (99%), with a small percentage of exotic pets (1%).
Culture: We value a healthy work-life balance—currently no evenings or weekends, with potential for a half-day Saturday in the future if a new vet is hired. Our team is small, friendly, and supportive.
Job Details
Work Schedule: A typical workweek is 4 weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Surgeons can expect 1-2 surgery days per week. There are no Saturday shifts now, but we'd love to add them in the future!
Patient Load: Expect to see 12-15 patients per day, with 15-30 minutes for wellness visits and sick appointments.
After-Hours/On-Call: We do not currently have after-hours or on-call requirements.
Mentorship: We offer comprehensive mentorship for new graduates, including longer appointment times, one-on-one surgical training, and shadowing.
