GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Recovery Support Specialist / Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is one of the most important roles on the organization chart at Fairland Recovery!. The BHT leads the day-to-day efforts of our clinical division to ensure our clients are served and served well. Fairland Recovery’s management is looking for passionate, skilled, and dedicated staff to become part of our diverse team and provide day-to-day opportunities which support and guide individuals in achieving personal goals for maximum living. The RSS will be involved with all aspects of the company and service delivery to include the operational teams, and clinical, medical and admissions teams. Our team values are clients and believe that a properly trained RSS with quality character can make our program the best in class.
We desire a RSS that can performs client's intakes based on interviews with client, their families, significant others, and appropriate community agencies. Assist the treatment team in identifying client strengths and weaknesses and developing a treatment/care plan for a specific activity, service or program. The RSS assists in monitoring the client's progress toward treatment goals
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must be able to enforce program rules and demand accountability.
- Checks clients for contraband and manages the client’s valuables and belongings.
- Interacts routinely with clients, observes behaviors and communicates significant observations to the supervisor. Promotes interest in recreational activities.
- Engages with clients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
- Facilitates client educational-rehabilitative groups which cover a variety of topics including social skills, coping skills, anger management and independent living skills.
- May take and record vital signs properly and communicate significant changes in client’s condition to the charge nurse.
- Documents in client records timely, accurately, and appropriately.
- Applies de-escalation techniques to help manage client’s emotions, behavior and participation in treatment.
- Assists with unit cleaning, organization of new admits charts, discharge process, filing, etc. Initiates client/employee incident reports.
- Keep the day-to-day operations running smoothly.
- Help with UAs and other specimen testing.
- Arranging appointments for personal needs
- Handling administrative duties
- Running errands and performing necessary tasks
- Driving residents to and from treatment
- Will be required to maintain a schedule of workforce development training on ethics, cultural responsiveness, and leadership.
- If in recovery, will be able to demonstrate a commitment to long term sobriety and self-care by attending recovery meetings and other support activities on a regular basis.
- Timely, compliant clinical documentation and billing practices following all FRC policies and standards, including but not limited collaborative documentation, documentation signed with 24 hours, ensuring discharges are completed, etc.
- Ensures every individual is assessed and offered the opportunity to receive the services they need.
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 1-year experience preferably in a sober living or recovery environment; minimum one (1) year clean time; experience providing mentorship services to recovery or other challenged populations
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with using the internet and Microsoft Word
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Must be very computer/software/internet savvy (MicroSoft Office)
- Ability to meet deadlines and work professionally
- Ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA laws regarding healthcare treatment
