Our machine shop consists of late model CNC bar lathes, swiss lathes, 3 & 5 axis VMC’s, assembly servo and hydraulic presses and other manually operated equipment. Primary Role: Manufacturing/Process Engineer
The primary responsibility of the Manufacturing/Process Engineer is to evaluate, develop, and improve manufacturing processes. Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs. Establish and implement production best practices and standards for production. Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Strong sense of urgency is needed to ensure no interruptions in production.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience with metal removal, molded plastics, stampings, castings, valves and moving parts.
- Leads proactive problem-solving efforts for manufacturing processes; ability to trouble shoot and diagnose causes of failure.
- Assists staff in developing solutions to complex technical and regulatory problems and investigation of unexpected results.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis investigations, develop and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Responsible for effective written, verbal and interpersonal interactions with internal/external project teams.
- Designs and implements cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and throughput.
- Design and propose upgrades to existing machinery.
- Assure equipment and utilities operate consistently and accurately within specified parameters.
- Assisting in troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment.
- Analyzing maintenance problems and equipment / part failures.
- Working with a team during repair, installation, and modification of new and existing equipment.
- Supports the plant manufacturing effort, with proven ability to identify problems and pursue plans toward their resolution. Specific focus will be areas of improving upon chronic levels of quality, waste and equipment efficiencies.
- As required within the scope of his/her duty, be responsible for all associated documentation, including; however not limited to, the following: validations, Operating Procedures, Preventive Maintenance schedules, Engineering Change Notifications, spare parts listings, etc.
- Directs the efforts of support personnel such as machinists and technicians, etc. in the modification, adjustment, removal and installation of new or existing equipment as required

- Expert level of CNC programming for various machines and manufacturers.
- CAM / CAD expert rating, Esprit a plus.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a CNC expert.
- Progressive increase of responsibility with proven accountability.
- Understanding of KPIs with insight of implementing.
- Substantial experience in a high-mix, medium volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in machining, programming, process creation, engineering, CNC controls, machine troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, schematics, and common facility drawings.
