What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Experience Representative (Universal Teller) position at Fairmont Federal Credit Union?
The Member Experience Representative (Universal Teller) is responsible to perform a variety of frontline duties and create a highly personalized experience for members by identifying their needs and recommending the best financial solutions. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for upholding our Core Values when dealing with co-workers, our members and the communities we serve.
- Be solution-minded by listening, genuinely caring about, quickly addressing individuals needs and requests.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of financial products and services, related policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
- Receive and process member financial transactions on share services, including but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, check cashing, credit card cash advances, redeem savings bonds, IRA contributions, etc.
- Maintain and balance assigned cash drawer within the credit union's established policies and procedures.
- Receive and process member financial transactions, which may include but not limited to: new and existing share and share draft accounts, term share certificates, debit cards, consumer loans and eServices.
- Perform duties related to member eServices such as: troubleshoot online banking and eStatement requests, debit card issues, unblock accounts, etc.
- Serve members from various locations such as lobby counter, office area, or drive-thru. Provide clear and concise communication by phone, email, and in-person.
- Generally assigned a home branch, may cover other locations or be assigned a different home branch based on operational need.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be legally eligible for employment in the United States
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have obtained a high school diploma or GED
- Must be available to work a schedule rotation based on operating hours
Preferred Qualifications
- One year to three years of similar or related experience
- Well-developed communication and member service skills, active listening, attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy.
- Competence with computers, software programs, and computer keyboard by touch, knowledge of general office machines and 10-key calculator.
- Self-empowered and solution-minded, detail oriented, maintains a high degree of accuracy when dealing with numbers and names.
- Accuracy in cash handling; basic math skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and able to perform dividend calculation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
- Excellent analytical skills to assist in using available resources for appropriate decision-making regarding member transactions.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently is required to walk and sit; needs to be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Use hand to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- Climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must frequently or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include but are not limited to close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour. Compensation commensurate of experience and qualifications.
