As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the implementation and integration of third-party applications within the Epic EHR Program. Collaborating closely with health administrators, clinicians, and allied health professionals, you will facilitate essential business process reengineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the EHR Program Director, EHR PMO Director, and Application Manager to align project activities.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with stakeholders such as NCDHHS, the Office of the State Chief Information Officer (CIO), and the Department of Information Technology (DIT).
- Manage HIT projects with a particular focus on clinical information systems and the interoperability of healthcare applications.
- Oversee the integration of third-party pharmacy applications into the Epic EHR system, including platforms like Omnicell and Surescripts.
- Assist in the development of business cases for presentation to the Information Technology Board and Governance (ITGB).
- Utilize PMI standards for project management, ideally with experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans in accordance with State and NCDHHS IT Project Management Methodology, leveraging tools such as Microsoft Project and MS SharePoint.
- Ensure project scope, schedule, and quality are maintained within designated application areas.
- Provide direction and mentorship to team members, setting clear expectations and promoting effective collaboration.
- Proactively identify and manage risks and issues, ensuring appropriate resolutions are documented and tracked.
- In-depth IT project management expertise, with strong knowledge in project budgeting, costing, and QA methodologies.
- Familiarity with IT procurements and vendor/contract management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and MS SharePoint.
- Strong conflict resolution abilities and adept problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational capabilities.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in IT project management or related technical project roles.
- Proven experience with the Epic EHR system and third-party pharmacy application integration.
- Familiarity with Health Information Technology (HIT) projects, particularly clinical information systems.
- PMP certification is preferred.
