Essential Job Functions :

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) :

Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in developing and directing the nursing department to ensure a high level of quality and improved care for our residents.

Serve as a key member of the facility leadership team, acting as a professional role model and leader.

Communicate with and supervise appropriate nursing personnel.

Promote and support the greatest possible degree of independence for residents.

Assume the duties of the DON as needed.

Address the needs and requests of current and new staff, serving as the main point of contact for nursing staff.

Work with the scheduler to ensure staff adherence to their assigned schedules and address any concerns that arise.

Assume on-call duties with other Nursing Leadership Staff.

RN Staff Education Coordinator :

Prepare and maintain a general orientation program for all new staff.

Plan, coordinate, and implement all clinical and non-clinical annual education programs.

Develop training resources, including user-friendly multimedia materials and presentations.

Re-educate staff following breaks in care plans or incidents that require customer service or violations of the Homes’ Standards of Conduct.

Collaborate closely with the Infection Preventionist on employee health matters.

Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Requirements :

Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License.

Two years of geriatric nursing experience preferred (for ADON role).

Leadership, supervision, and management experience preferred (for both roles).

Experience in staff education preferred (for RN Staff Education Coordinator role).

Must be available for Holidays, Weekends, or On-Call duties.

Excellent computer skills.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must be able to perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodation may apply).

Ability to work effectively with residents, staff, visitors, volunteers, government personnel, and others under all conditions and circumstances.

Employee Health :

Ongoing collaboration with the Infection Preventionist to ensure the health and safety of all employees.
