Essential Job Functions Include:
Job Title: Laundry Aide
Location: Fairport Baptist Home
Department: Housekeeping & Laundry
Reports to: Housekeeping & Laundry Aide
Essential Job Functions
- Collect and sort soiled linens and personal laundry.
- Load and unload washing machines and dryers.
- Hang garments and iron upon request from supervisor.
- Fold, count, and stack linens and personal laundry.
- Provide each laundry cart with assigned laundry for delivery.
- Deliver laundry from carts or racks to Resident rooms.
- Supply extra linen as directed.
- Inspect linen for wear, quality, and condition.
- Record weight of soiled laundry.
- Label personal laundry as directed.
- Mend linen and/or personal laundry as requested.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments and inter-departmental personnel to ensure the needs of Residents are met.
- Willing to explore and incorporate new methods and principles into current practices.
- Work closely with all staff to uphold and further the Mission, Vision, and Values of Fairport Rehab and Nursing Center.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Housekeeping/Laundry Manager.
Requirements:
- None required, on-the-job training provided.
Qualifications:
- Must be available for weekends (rotating schedule).
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions (reasonable accommodation may apply.)
- Must be able to function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with Residents, staff, visitors, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstances.
