- Acts as a personal and confidential Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Superintendent
- Coordinate and plan meetings and events related to the Deputy Superintendent's Office
- Coordinate the District's Home School Program
- Coordinate grant and title funds
- Acts as Deputy District Clerk
- Attends board meetings as Deputy District Clerk, in the absence of the District Clerk
- Liaison for the United Way campaign
- Independently composes routine correspondence by applying knowledge of District regulations and operations
- Highly motivated self-starter who is detail oriented and organized
- Takes and transcribes oral dictation of letters, articles, memorandum and other materials
- Screens telephone calls, correspondence and personal callers of the Deputy Superintendent
- Coordinates and arranges appointment schedules and reservations for the Deputy Superintendent
- Compiles various monthly and annual statistical reports
- Good knowledge of benefits administration policies and procedures including health, medical, and life insurance
- Ability to read and interpret federal and state laws and labor contracts as they relate to benefits administration, District policies and procedures, principles, guidelines, and best practices
- Ability to process paperwork accurately according to standardized procedures; organizational and time management skills
- Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Internet, Outlook, electronic mail)
- Ability to assist in the reviewing of time cards/time sheets, including automated time keeping systems
- Serves as a backup to benefits and payroll
- Processes retiree health insurance billing
- Operates general office equipment
- Acts as a liaison for the Deputy Superintendent with the general public
- Supports the budget process
- Ability to organize school community events
- Assists Registrar and Assistant Superintendent with enrollment projects
- Performs related duties as required or assigned
- Knowledge of English composition, grammar and spelling
- Knowledge of Google Workspace and other software programs
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and other district employees
- Ability to support efforts in communication with the community
- Someone who is highly organized and a team player
- Finance, as related to grant management and purchase orders
- Meet the Monroe County Civil Service requirements for the Office Clerk II position
- Take the Monroe County Civil Service Office Clerk II exam, when offered

This position performs clerical and administrative services of a responsible and confidential nature for the Deputy Superintendent of Fairport Central School District. Under supervision, an employee in this position is responsible for the performance of challenging and detail oriented clerical tasks to support the Deputy Superintendent. Work is performed in accordance with general instructions with considerable leeway permitted for the exercise of independent judgment.
Responsibilities:
Currently hold the Monroe County Civil Service Office Clerk II title OR on the current Monroe County Civil Service Office Clerk II eligible list. If there are no candidates that meet these qualifications, a candidate may be hired provisionally if the following are met:
Monday - Friday
8:00 am - 4:30 pm (summer hours are 8:00 am - 3:00 pm)
7.5 hours/day
12 Month position; 1860 hours/year
Salary:
Minimum starting $23.50/hour
