Dietary Manager

Fairview Care Center is currently seeking a fun and compassionate individual to join Dietary Department as a Full Time Dietary Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Develop and maintain effective channels of communication & cooperation with other staff and departments to assure dietary services and activities proceed smoothly and a harmonious work environment is sustained.

* Direct, implement and monitor dietary department systems to ensure that optimum nutrition is obtained for all residents based on their physician’s order, plan of care, and their right to participate/refuse treatment, and to assure that appetizing meals are presented in a pleasing manner.

* Establish and maintain practices to assure sanitation and safety standards are communicated to staff and met.

* Interview new admissions to determine food preferences and develop nutritional plan of care. Meet regularly and as needed with residents and families to receive constructive feedback. Complete various assessments, protocols and individual dietary care plans according to facility policy and within regulatory timelines. Chart in the medical record as needed. Address problems with Consultant Dietitian.

* Hire, orientate, train, schedule, evaluate, counsel and discipline dietary employees according to facility policy. Assure on-going compliance with OSHA, worker’s compensation, wage/hour and facility standards within the dietary department. Maintain department hours within established budget.

* Purchase supplies, food and equipment. Directs the receipt, storage and issuance of food products. Reviews codes and forwards invoices to Business Office within established time-frame and according to facility practices. Maintain department purchases within established budget.

* Maintain extreme confidentiality of employee and resident information.

Requirements:

Have leadership qualities. Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize projects, deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/staff, and the general public. Ability to communicate a variety of information to all levels of facility personnel, resident, and the general public; both verbally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess at least a high school diploma, a certification as a Certified Dietary manager is preferred, or be enrolled in a Dietary Manager Program which we are willing to help cover the cost, and pass a criminal background check.

Fairview Care Center is owned by Dodge County and is located on the west edge of Dodge Center, MN. It is a 55 bed long term care facility which prides itself on high quality care and enriching the lives of those we serve. It is on none acres of beautiful land and is surrounded by trees that are very inviting to birds and other wildlife.

Pay: $28.71 - $32.31 per hour
