What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiology Technician position at Fairview Health Services?
We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a dedicated cardiology technician to join our team at our University of Minnesota Medical Center (East Bank)! The Cardiology Technicians are responsible for providing diagnostic testing inpatients and outpatients. This includes 12-Lead ECGs, Holter, Event and BP monitor application. In the absence of stress testing and supervise application, the Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the nursing supervisor (ANS) including, but not limited to, transporting patients unmonitored, discharging patients, retrieval of supplies for/from different units, and retrieval/restocking of linen.
Schedule: This position will be working 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hour long overnight shifts with 1 evening shift a week. This position will work 10:45pm-7:15am overnight and 2:30pm-11pm on Wednesdays block rotating schedule with an every other weekend rotation.

Responsibilities Job Description
As a Cardiology Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Performing ECG’s, and application of stress and Holter, Event, and BP monitor.
- Preparing patients for examinations and explaining procedures to patients.
- Performing all file maintenance activities related to the tests including filing, copying, faxing, and file pulling.
- Maintaining all testing equipment.
- Troubleshooting of equipment issues and conducting preventative maintenance checks.
- Initiating service calls on equipment not working.
- In the absence of stress testing and supervise application, the Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the nursing supervisor (ANS).

Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 0-2 years of EKG or patient care experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred
- Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree
- Completion of accredited cardiac technician program or equivalent clinical experience
- 2-4 years of EKG or patient care experience
