Come join our Rehab Flexible Work Force team! We are seeking a certified hand therapist to provide hand therapy services with M Health Fairview Rehab!
- Casual position, authorized to work up to 80 hours per pay period.
M Health Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.
As an academic health system with residency and fellowship programs and a rehab-focused clinical quality team, we have a collaborative culture that is centered on learning with an emphasis on evidence based, patient-centered care. Rehab’s continuing education program offers 40 continuing education courses per year, including many at no cost to employees.
Responsibilities Job Description
The hand therapist partners with the patient and their care providers while performing evaluation/re-evaluation
Evaluates and reassesses patient condition
Gathers pertinent data
Performs appropriate examination
Determines occupational therapy diagnosis
Determines plan of care
Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risks
Determines prognosis for recovery
Establishes goals with patient or caregiver
Implements and modifies plan of care based on reassessment and patient response
Coordinates care and communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team to achieve desire outcomes
Establishes appropriate discharge plan
Provides appropriate and effective interventions
Educates patient and family on appropriate care
Complies with standards of productivity and time management
Provides proper documentation of interventions provided and patient response
Supervises and directs appropriate members of rehab team
Delegates tasks appropriately to assistants/clerks/aides/transporters/extenders
Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
Actively mentors or otherwise assists in the professional development of Hand Therapists
Provides periodic continuing education sessions to staff
Periodically supervises Level II Fieldwork students
Qualifications
Required
Occupational Therapy Licensure in State of Minnesota or temporary license
Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) Credential from the Hand Therapy Certification Commission
MN License including certification to practice of physical modalities NBCOT
Active Basic Life Support Certification
Preferred
Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
1 years as CHT
