What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist position at Fairview Health Services?
Fairview Health Services is hiring a CT Technologist to join our CT Scanner department at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN.
This position is eligible for a Sign-On Bonus!
The CT Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).
Schedule: This position will be working 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the Day/Evening rotating shift. This position will also work an every other weekend rotation.
- Position includes two 12-hour shifts during the week 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, and two 8-hour shifts every other weekend 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Saturday and Sunday.

Responsibilities Job Description
Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve efficient patient outcomes
Performs excellent patient care and examinations
Identifies relevant data from images accurately
Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs.
Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
Participates in crafting a culture of patient safety and demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness
Verify patient identification and documentation and connect with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
Achieves quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures
Ensures patient data integrity
Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures
Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes
Follows infection control guidelines
Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members and acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution
Responds appropriately to emergent situations
Completed all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure
Participates as an active team member
Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
Cleans and maintains room and supplies
Provides coordinated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- License/Certification/Registration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Current Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Additional Requirements:
- Understanding of current MN Dept of Health Regulations
- Knowledge of quality control and safety standards
- Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- License/Certification/Registration
- Additional certifications in Imaging
- Experience
- 1 or more years of experience as a CT Technologist or in a related role
- Previous ambulatory care experience preferred
