Fairview Health Services is hiring a casual Exercise Physiologist to join our CV Imaging team at our Fairview Southdale Hospital located in Edina, MN.
The Exercise Physiologist assists the proctor RN with all modalities of cardiac stress testing including GXT, stress echo & nuclear studies. They are responsible for patient education on the use of Holter and event monitors. They also will perform 12 lead EKGs on inpatients and outpatients at our facilities.
Responsibilities Job Description
As an Exercise Physiologist, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining knowledge of, and following, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
- Actively participating in creating and implementing improvements.
- Direct patient care in accordance to established standards of practice for Non-Invasive Heart Care.
- Performing non-invasive cardiology procedures.
- Assessing and monitoring patient progress and intervening as appropriate to ensure procedures achieve desired outcomes.
- Providing patient education.
- Responding to medical emergencies and communicating with healthcare team.
- Troubleshooting equipment.
- Orienting and training new team members.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science
- Strong skills interpreting 12 lead EKG
- 0-2 years cardiac rehabilitation, stress testing, or Holter monitoring experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of cardiac testing experience
- American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Specialist Certification
