Responsibilities Job Description
- Provide information, support and direct services to families by coordinating March of Dimes program modules, education and social activities.
- Round and meet with NICU families providing support and information
- Help manage the NICU Parent Family Advisory Council
- Recruit, educate and help manage parent to parent volunteers
- Participate in the NICU Quality Improvement committee and other unit committees as requested
- Serve as a liaison between March of Dimes and hospital to maintain partnership.

- Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making.
- Communicates in a respective manner.
- Ensures a safe, secure environment.
- Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs.
- Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.
- Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver.
- Fulfills all organizational requirements
- Completes all required learning relevant to the role
- Complies with all relevant laws, regulation and policies
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in social work, child & family studies, public health, nursing, counseling or other related subject.
Experience
1-3 years of experience in a related field (parent educator, social work, public health, nursing, volunteer services, counseling).
License/Certification/Registration
None
Preferred
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in social work, child & family studies, nursing, counseling, or related field
Experience
NICU experience, 3-5 years parent education or support
License/Certification/Registration
