About this Unit:
">If you're looking to gain diverse experience across multiple units, our Float Pool team could be an ideal fit. As a member of our interdependent team led by a designated RN, you'll perform various patient care duties, including vital sign checks, bladder scanning, blood sugar testing, and documentation of cares provided.
You'll also be responsible for reporting patient care data and progress of outcomes to designated RNs.
Key Responsibilities:
">- Demonstrate dedication to Fairview's universal guiding principles to achieve the nursing vision.
- Support comprehensive nursing theory based on Watson's theory of caring, aligning with the practice standards of the American Holistic Nurses' Association.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, reinforcing patient education as advised by clinical staff.
- Document patient information accurately and efficiently in electronic systems.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Requirements:
">- Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another sponsored program.
- Six months of direct care experience in long-term, home care, or acute care settings, preferably with 6 months of med-surg experience.
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, with completion of one semester of clinical rotation within the program.
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry (not required if transferring to another Nursing Assistant position).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for OnTrack participants.
