Flex Security Officer Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Flex Security Officer. In this role, you will provide support to assigned campuses as needed without preference or bias. This expectation will be monitored and regularly reviewed by leadership.
About the Position:
The Flex Security Officer will work closely with other members of the Security Services Department to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff, and property within our facilities. Key responsibilities include surveying the hospital through patrols and posting at entrances, monitoring calls to Security Services, assisting in the de-escalation and/or physical control of potentially violent individuals, and maintaining a knowledge of, and complying with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular patrols of the hospital to detect potential threats and take action to deter emergency situations and maintain a safe environment.
• Respond to calls from Security Services, supporting as necessary, and communicating clearly and effectively with team members.
• Use strength, stamina, flexibility, and critical thinking to de-escalate and/or physically control potentially violent individuals.
• Stay current on all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements:
• Two years of security or customer service experience, or an Associate's degree and one year of security or customer service experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Valid Class D Driver's License and DMV record which meets Fairview Insurability requirements for assignments that require the operation of a motor vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Hospital Security Experience
• Certified Peace Officer (POST) or Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B)
