Fairview Health Services is hiring a MRI Technologist to join our Magnetic Resonance Imaging department at our M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital location in Edina, MN. This role is eligible to receive a $4,500 sign on bonus!
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).
Schedule:
This is a benefit eligible position (.9 FTE), 72 hours in a two week pay period, working 12 hour shifts primarily assigned to the day/evening shift (10:00AM-10:00PM).
Positions within the department are not regularly scheduled to take on call services. This position will work 3 days for week 1 (Monday -Wednesday) and 3 days for week 2 (Wednesday -Friday eve). Every other weekend will be an extended weekend off.

Responsibilities Job Description
As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and prioritizing work to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Using appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs while also communicating pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.
- Applying established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures.
- Adhering to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures.
- Accurately documenting in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes.
- Participating as an active team member and participating in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives.
- Correctly operating equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines.
- Identifying and responding to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly.
- Maintaining a high level of competency and following MRI Safety protocols.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Education
- Technical Certificate and/or Associates Degree in Radiology
- License/Certification/Registration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Current Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Meet MRI Safety Screen Requirements
- Additional Requirements
- Understanding of current ACR Guidelines for MRI Safety
- Knowledge of quality control and safety standards
- Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience
- 1 or more years of experience in a related role
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
- License/Certification/Registration
- Additional certifications in Imaging
- ARRT MRI Certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire
