This Nurse Manager role will plan, lead, coordinate, and evaluate patient care activities of the Birthplace. In addition, this role will lead nursing practice and patient care operations in collaboration with and accountable to the Nursing Director, this includes: nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities.
The Fairview Ridges birthplace has a 30 bed postpartum and 9 bed labor and delivery unit with a 3 bed maternal assessment center and over 2400 deliveries per year.

Responsibilities Job Description
Job Expectations:
- Leads day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.
- Plans, leads, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality, regulatory compliance, and financial management.
- Handles equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.
- Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.
- Collects and analyzes quality data and applies process improvement methodology to ensure delivery of safe and quality patient care.
- Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.
- Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Advocates for patient, family, department and organizational needs.
- In partnership with the Nursing Practice and Education team assures that evidence based clinical care is being delivered.
- Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.
- Works with Nursing Director to establish goals and objectives.
- Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.
- Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.
Qualifications
Required
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Bachelor’s degree is not in nursing must have a Master’s degree is nursing.
Experience
Four Years nursing experience, at least two of which is in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role.
License/Certification/Registration
Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.
BLS certification
Preferred
Education
Master’s Degree in Nursing
License/Certification/Registration
ANCC or AONL Certification
