The Nursing Education Specialist directs and/or participates in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning for assigned groups or departments. The NES functions as educator, consultant, coach, and liaison regarding learning theory and the competence development of staff.

This position will be working 80 hours every two weeks, and will work primarily day shift and no weekends.
Responsibilities Job Description
- Assess the learning needs of individuals, groups, and departments.
- Plan and design learning approaches to meet the identified needs.
- Offer learning opportunities to meet the identified needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the learning opportunities.
- Demonstrate ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served
- Foster a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinking.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- 3 or more years of nursing experience
- Current MN RN License
- Certification in area of specialty within one year of hire.
Preferred
- Masters Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Science
- 6 or more years Nursing experience
- Nurse Educator Certification (NEC)
