We at M Health Fairview are looking for a Nursing Station Technician at the Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN! This position is casual every two weeks on the Day/Evening shift, for 8 hour shifts, and has no weekend rotation. This role is not eligible for benefits.

Shift Times: 5:30am-2pm, 6am-2:30pm, 7:30am-4pm, and 12pm-8:30pm
The starting base rate of pay for the position is $22.50. Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay.
About this Unit:
Do you have a special curiosity about surgery? Then the Pre and Post Op Care Unit may be right for you! NSTs in this unit are responsible for admitting patients, checking vitals, and preparing them for surgery. There is also opportunities to learn the Health Unit Coordinator role. NSTs usually see 10-20 patients per day.
Job Responsibilities:
The Nursing Station Technician position is responsible for assisting with patient care, performing receptionist duties on the station, and maintaining patient care areas. The NST assists in the transfer/positioning and mobility of patients, including assisting with ADLs and general patient care.
Additionally, the NST would be expected to:
- facilitate room turnover
- audit and maintain unit supplies
- coordinate activities of nursing station to support patient care staff
- manage medical record flow and patient care charts
- provide outstanding customer service
- perform other tasks as needed
Required Qualifications:
License/Certification/Registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
AND ONE or more of the following:
- Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
Or
- Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
Or
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program.
Or
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position.
