We are seeking a physical medicine aide to join us at M Health Fairview St John's Hospital! This aide position will support our inpatient acute care patients and is responsible for assisting all teams within rehabilitation services - this may include setting up and assisting with direct patient care, patient transport (and supervising patients during these activities). Responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and inventory of equipment and durable medical equipment for patient use and communicating with vendors regarding equipment inventories. Responsible for transporting patients to and from the Rehab Services Department and providing general support to the department.

- Schedule: requirement of one full weekend (Saturday/Sunday) every four weeks and willingness to pick up weekday shifts, as available.

Responsibilities Job Description
The aide role assists with patient care under the direction of a therapist, issues equipment to patients, cleans equipment and Rehab spaces, completes light clerical tasks, and assists with patient transport to/from Rehab gyms
Maintain knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements
Safely transports patients in a timely manner and respects patient personal dignity
Demonstrates knowledge and skill to provide care to a diverse population
Assists therapists during patient treatments
Prepares patients, treatment area and equipment for treatment procedures and supplies
Provides hands on assistance to patients in the practice of repetitive activities to facilitate treatment
Cleans and maintains department and equipment
Maintains an inventory of supplies to ensure the efficient operation of the department
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served
Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making
Communicates in a respective manner
Ensures a safe, secure environment
Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs
Modifies clinical interventions based on population served
Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver
Fulfills all organizational requirements
Completes all required learning relevant to the role
Complies with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures, and standards

Qualifications
Required
High school graduate or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred
Previous patient/customer service
Continuing Education focused on career path of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or other rehabilitation services (cardiac, pulmonary, etc.)
