Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a X-ray Technologist to join our medical imaging department at our Apple Valley Clinic location in Apple Valley, MN. 

 

The X-ray Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.

 

Schedule: This is a 0.75FTE position (60 hours per 2 week pay period).  This position typically works 10-hour day shifts.

 

Typical work schedule will be:

Week 1: Wednesday: 7am-6pm, Tuesday: 7:30am-6pm, Friday: 7:30am-5pm

Week 2: Monday: 730am-6pm, Wednesday: 7am-6pm, Thursday: 7:30am-6pm

Responsibilities Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist functions independently, adhering to the requirements of professional practice in performing all work responsibilities. The technologist performs a wide variety of complex diagnostic testing in the discipline of radiology, as well as other diagnostic imaging services they are qualified to perform. The technologist is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements.

 

Prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

· Determines and revises priorities for diagnostic testing.

· Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs.

· Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team.

 

Applies established professional guidelines and standards for complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures.

· Adheres to radiologic diagnostic testing procedures.

· Documents compliance with regulatory agency requirements.

· Follows infection control guidelines.

· Adheres to safety protocols.

· Ensures imaging procedures meet all standards and protocols.

· Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members.

· Responds appropriately to emergent situations.

 

Evaluates imaging results for diagnostic quality.

· Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances.

· Acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution.


Qualifications

Required:

Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree

Certification as required by the ARRT

BLS Certification - from American Heart Association or American Red Cross and current before date of hire

 

Preferred

3 Years performing radiology services
