Security Officer

M Health Fairview is looking for a Security Officer to join our team at our St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN. This position is approved for a 1.0  FTE (80 hours per pay period) on the night shift with an every other weekend rotation.

Week 1: Monday through Friday 11p-730a

Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday 11p-730a

Job Summary:

The security Officer provides for the safety and security of patients, visitors and staff and property by responding to needs of hospital patients, visitors and staff, offering assistance and providing excellent customer service standards. Proactively works to prevent theft and vandalism. May be involved in high risk situations with exposure to potentially dangerous situations which requires range of safety precautions.

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Patrolling designated areas and maintaining a safe environment
• Detailing daily activities in our report writing system.
• Responding to calls such as crisis calls, and calls working with unpredictable populations requiring teamwork and clear communication.
• Utilizing skills such as: de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, and risk analysis.
• Nurtures a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinking.
• Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

Required

Valid Class D Driver’s License and DMV record which meets MHealth Fairview Insurability requirements as vital for the job.

Must pass M Health Fairview background check and able to pass pre-assignment training within probationary period.
