M Health Fairview is looking for a System Professional Development Specialist for our Critical Care domain.
The System Nursing Professional Development Specialist - RN for Critical Care improves the professional practice and role competence of nurses and other healthcare personnel by facilitating ongoing learning, change, and growth with the intention of improving population health through indirect care. This PDS role will be supporting Southdale Hospital in Edina and Ridges Hospital in Burnsville with a primary focus on critical care and IMC nursing.

Responsibilities Job Description
- Learning facilitator. Uses the educational design process and adult learning principles to bridge the knowledge, skills, and/or practice gaps identified through learning needs assessment and evaluation of outcomes, including the development of initial and ongoing competency validation processes.
- Change agent. Actively works to transform processes at micro, meso, and/or macro system levels. The NPDS uses change management strategies and theories to drive desired outcomes.
- Mentor. Advances the profession by contributing to the professional development of others and supporting ongoing professional learning as individuals develop across practice, professional, and educational settings.
- Leader. Influences and advocates for interprofessional practice and learning environments, the education specialty, the profession of nursing, and healthcare.
- Champion for inquiry. Promotes a spirit of inquiry, the generation and dissemination of new knowledge, and the use of evidence to advance clinical education, guide clinical practice, and improve the quality of care for the patient, family, and/or community (the health care consumer/partner).
- Advocate for Nursing Specialty. Actively supports, promotes, and demonstrates nursing professional development within a nursing practice specialty, including the promotion of nursing certification.
- Partner for practice transitions. Supports the transition of nurses and allied nursing staff across practice and learning environments, roles, and professional stages.
- Collaborator. Supports and partners with nursing practice professionals, nursing operations, and other stakeholders with the shared goal of achieving the organization’s mission and vision.
Qualifications
Required
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Experience
- 3 or more years of nursing experience
- Experience in teaching, coaching, precepting, or training
License/Certification/Registration
- Current MN RN License
- BLS certification
Preferred
Education
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field
Experience
- 1 or more years of education experience
License/Certification/Registration
- Recognized ANCC certification in Nursing Specialty aligned to your area of practice
