The Ultrasound Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).
Schedule: This is a .6FTE(48 hours worked per 2 week pay period). Typical work schedule will be weekdays. No weekends!
Location: M Health Clinics and Surgery Center located in Minneapolis on the East Bank.

Responsibilities Job Description
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Performs examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely manner
Verifies patient identification and documentation and reviews physician order prior to exam or procedure
Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate health care professional
Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam and participates in creating a culture of patient safety.
Accurately produces and records measurements according to protocols and conveys initial findings and clinical data to radiologists
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness for facility
Ensures patient data integrity
Accurately completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, and status changes in a timely fashion
Performs accurate image identification, record preparation, and digital image manipulation and archiving. Assembles similar relevant exams and reports
Documents initial and ongoing data, interventions, responses/results, or interventions consistent with established policies/procedures/guidelines
Participates as an active team member
Orients and mentors’ new employees and students
Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
Assumes responsibility for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies
Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines and according to manufacturers’ Information for Use
Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to Department guidelines
Acquires technical competency as new technology is introduced into the facility
Correctly operates and optimizes the use of equipment nad executes downtime procedures
Qualifications
Required:
Education at a level to be ARDMS registry eligible, including successful completion of sonography clinical requirements
ARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 days of employment
Basic Life Support - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before date of hire
Additional registrations may be required for specific locations based on the site’s accreditations (for example: ACR, AIUM, IAC) and/or regulatory requirements
Preferred:
Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
ARDMS registered in multiple specialties
