Job Summary
Registered Nurse is the designation given to an individual who is licensed to practice professional nursing, holds ultimate responsibility for direct and indirect nursing care, is a graduate of an approved school for professional nursing, and is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse pursuant to M.G.L. c.112. Included in such responsibility is providing nursing care, health maintenance, teaching, counseling, planning and restoration for optimal functioning and comfort, of those they serve.
The Registered Professional Nurse functions as a health care team leader responsible for the safe delivery of patient-centered, goal oriented care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Professional Nurse also directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Experience
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Has a thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures.
Wound Care Certification preferred, required within 1 year of hire.
3 years of Med-Surg experience multi-tasking in an acute setting.
Current or recent intensive and comprehensive wound care experience, including total contact cast removal, cast application, advanced dressing application, NPWT and integration with hyperbaric oxygen preferred.
Must possess excellent time management skills.
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
Ability to coordinate the delivery of nursing care to 2 or more patients at a time
Experience working with physicians, and providers to prioritize patient care needs in order to assure timely clinic flow/operations for optimal patient satisfaction.
Service rendered to patients to include adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
Education and Training
Associate's degree in nursing required.
BSN preferred.
License & Certification
RN License - Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts
Wound Care Certification preferred
CPR/BLS
Additional Requirements
Demonstrates continuing education in accordance with State regulations. Assures compliance with unit-specific scope of practice. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of the position can be fully met.
Able to treat up to 10 patients in an 8-hour period.
Must demonstrate likelihood of being able to complete orientation within 160 hours.
Schedule:
Clinic hours are Monday- Friday 7:30 am- 4:00pm
Position requires a commitment of 24 hours weekly, 8-hour days, scheduled days of the week may vary.
No weekends, no holidays.
