- Develop creative/innovative strategies to remediate student's particular needs.
- Collaborate and support to maintain consistency with student interventions.
- Provide instruction as indicated by individual student IEP (Individual Education Program).
- Develop IEPs on an annual basis following federal and state guidelines.
- Able to use current technology, including special education online programs
- Knowledge of ODE Standards and Model Courses of Study.
- Provide a safe environment for students which is conducive to learning
- Keep necessary records and make reports as required by Principal, Superintendent, Board of Education, and State Dept. of Education.
- Contribute to curriculum building and program improvement in content, methods, and materials.
- Desire and passion to work with students with significant disabilities
- Develop, implement and progress monitor individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with significant disabilities in various settings, including general education classrooms and resource rooms.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, assistive technologies, and evidence-based practices to promote student learning and engagement
- Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards - Extended (OLS-E)
- Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and other professionals to coordinate services and ensure student success.
- Modify curriculum and assessments to meet individual student needs.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing student needs and situations.
