What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Counselor/Case Manager position at Fairview Recovery Services, Inc.?
Sign on bonus of $3,000 for qualified candidates when hired. Sign on bonus will be paid in increments of $750 at 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, and 18 months.

- Participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team in program planning, identifying and assessing patient needs and treatment planning and implementation of direct services.
- Participates in the planning and implementation of educational, vocational and clinical treatment training programs: acts as a consultant to patient, facilitate treatment groups, and makes referrals, as appropriate, to schools, social service agencies, health-related organizations, probation personnel, and other groups and agencies.
- Counsel's patients on basic addiction and recovery issues, living skills, the use of social and recreational outlets, and educational and vocational opportunities.
- Prepares and maintains required reports, case records, progress reports and similar documentation.
- Participates in the On-Call rotation.
COUNSELOR POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Working knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques used in group and individual counseling; working knowledge of human behavior, socio-economic problems and development; ability to establish, maintain and terminate a counseling relationship; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to maintain records and prepare reports; good judgment; and tact.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COUNSELOR POSITION: (either or combination)
A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State Registered College with a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field;
or
B. Graduation from a New York State registered or regionally accredited two-year college with an Associate's Degree, or training certificate in Chemical Dependency Counseling/ SUD, and one (1) year experience of direct patient care in a chemical dependency treatment/ SUD setting with an emphasis on case management.
A supervised internship in a substance use disorder setting is equivalent to one year of employment experience.
Preferred Qualifications of a Counselor: Experience in the chemical dependency/ SUD field, on a career path to obtain a CASAC credential. Flexibility in scheduling. CASAC-T preferred
Must possess and maintain a valid, clean driver’s License with less than three (3) points.
