Education/Credentials
Required Qualifications
- Assistant Engineer – Limited, Oceans License (may sub 3A/E, 2A/E, or 1A/E Motor License)
- MMC w/ Valid STCW Endorsements
- Basic Safety Training (VI/1)
- Personal Survival Craft (VI/2)
- Advanced Firefighting (VII/3)
- VPDSD (Vessel Personnel w/ Designated Security Duties) (VI/6)
- OICEW (Officer In Charge of Engineering Watch) 750kw/1000HP or higher
- Lifeboatman
- CPR/First Aid
- STCW Medical Certificate – we require the STCW Expiration Date to be valid
- TWIC badge - Not to expire within three months
- Valid Passport – Not to expire within six months, must be able to travel internationally with no felonies, DUI or other convictions which would restrict entry into Canada or other nations
- 1 year of service as sea sea-going Engineer
- Tankerman-Engineer or Tankerman-PIC (Barge)
- Prior experience with Inert Gas systems and Intercon Coupling systems
- Wartsila, AlfaLaval experience
- Familiarity with petroleum cargo and ballast operations and regulations
- Computer efficiencies with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Maintenance Based Programs
