Fairway Custom Cabinets, a leader in custom cabinetry and multi-unit production, is seeking a skilled and experienced Millwork/Cabinet Estimator to join our team. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare bid takeoffs, draft bid letters, budgets, and complete bid forms while maintaining the bid log.
- Manage a team of 1-2 individual while outputting estimates and review individuals work
- Enter and manage proposals in the database system, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Effective collaboration with contractor, clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers to complete the estimation.
- Communicate on behalf of the Estimating Department, including drafting “no bid” letters, value engineering letters, and contract review summaries.
- Compile and organize awarded estimator files for easy reference and compliance.
- Create detailed cost estimates, proposals, and project budgets while managing multiple submittals and deadlines simultaneously.
- Must be able to read Architectural blueprints, specifications, and other necessary project documents.
- Work closely with senior management and team leaders on complete project cycles.
- Attend estimating meetings, draft meeting minutes, and distribute them to attendees.
- Build strong relationships with partners, vendors, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and regulatory requirements to provide competitive and compliant estimates.
- Assist in organizing internal and external events related to project estimating.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Estimating Department and company operations.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Cabinet Vision software.
- Building connect or similar bid management software
- Experience processing Cabinet Vision drafts to CNC machinery, including S2M machines (4 years minimum).
- Familiarity with bid takeoff processes, proposal preparation, and submittals.
- Strong knowledge of reading architectural blueprints and understanding general contractor requirements.
- Stellar organization skills, with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor and ability to build strong relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with estimating systems is a plus.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude, with a proactive approach to solving problems and helping others.
