Job Title: Pastor/Director of Children and Family Ministry
Position Overview:
The position is open to applicants willing to work part-time for at least 24 hours or full-time. Salary will be commensurate with degree and experience.
Actively invest in shaping children to know Christ, grow in their faith, and take Jesus with them wherever they go.
Create an atmosphere where children are welcomed and invited to know and experience Jesus Christ.
Lead, develop, and oversee ministry with children from birth through 5th grade by directing, coordinating, recruiting, and training ministry volunteers in the primary area of children’s ministry. Nursery, Sunday School/Service, Weekday Gathering/Events
Engage parents in all aspects of ministry and equip them in the spiritual nurture of their children.
Develop channels for outreach to the children and families of the Manistee community.
Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related field is desired but not mandatory. (Bible, communications, child development, etc.)
Ordained, licensed, or willing to pursue and complete with the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Previous experience in Christian ministry or Christian education is highly valued.
Qualifications:
Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and His mission is demonstrated through conduct and doctrine.
Personally pursuing an ever-deepening relationship with Jesus Christ.
Possessing integrity, someone who can be trusted.
Demonstrated passion for seeing Christ formed in children and families.
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
Teachable Spirit - Lifelong learner
Willing and able to adapt to pursue the mission.
Responsibilities:
Develop a pastoral relationship with the children and their families.
Organize curriculum and evaluate ministry opportunities.
Prepare a budget and manage ministry expenses.
Develop and maintain a motivated volunteer team.
Coordinate with the Office Manager to ensure the Child Protection Policy is followed.
Oversee classrooms/nursery to be sure they are age-appropriate, safe, regularly cleaned, and updated.
Design, create, and coordinate outreach: family-oriented and neighborhood ministry programs.
Assist in Sunday worship as requested by the Lead Pastor.
Practice ongoing communication with the congregation regarding the ongoing activities of children’s
ministries and how they relate to our vision of mission and ministry.
Participate in necessary planning, weekly meetings, retreats, and Ministry Team meetings.
Accountable to Lead Pastor and the Leadership Team.
Perform other related duties as negotiated with the Lead Pastor
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship
Pay: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
