What are the responsibilities and job description for the Video/Media Coordinator position at Faith Lutheran Church?
The Media Arts Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the media arts and video creation needs of Faith Lutheran Church. This will include all creative needs for audio, video and lighting capabilities for use within Faith for its worship, programs and events.
Essential Functions
- Worship and Event Support
Coordinate planning for livestreaming and video recording needs for upcoming worship and events, working closely with WMA Director and pastoral staff.
Provide technical and planning support for weekly events like worship, confirmation, rehearsals, etc.
Provide technical and planning support for special events, conferences, funerals, retreats, etc. and asses their technical needs.
Collaborate with the Worship Arts team to plan worship services.
- Video Creation
Coordinate with core ministry areas to plan for video creation to highlight ministries. Manage process to shoot, edit and produce all video needs for the congregation. Coordinate with pastoral staff to provide video and other essential needs for e-learning courses and other highlighted ministry needs.
- Equipment Management and space management for media products
Provide technology maintenance to all our worship and learning spaces, working closely with current computer/technology committee.
Organize, inventory, clean, and repair technology equipment.
- Media Team Leadership
Coordinate and create monthly schedule of volunteers to help run media, sound and lights.
Develop new volunteers and provide ongoing guidance for volunteers
Collaborate with WMA Director and pastoral staff to provide training, team building, and spiritual guidance for volunteers.
- Technology Support
Help with installation of new technology equipment and maintenance projects.
Help with the creation and installation of special projects and props.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Creative skills to develop compelling video content. Especially to interview subjects on camera with thoughtful questions in addition to possessing script-writing skills
- Experience with Adobe Premiere
- Experience with After Effects/Illustrator/Audition/Photoshop/Lightroom is a plus
- Solid understanding of file structure, archiving, and project workflows
- Live Streaming/video broadcasting is preferred
- Graphic design experience is a plus
- Experience in sound design and mixing is a plus
- Comfortable using YouTube/YouTube Studio and managing a channel
- Expertise in Video
- Understanding of all common video formats.
- Live switching, scaling, and streaming
- Basic camera operation
- Experience operating DSLR or Mirrorless Camera systems and cinematography methods
- Exhibits a mechanical aptitude and displays knowledge and experience in sound, lighting and other audio-visual equipment. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and cabling when issues arise.
- DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and Bitfocus Companion and StreamDeck experience for live streaming is a plus.
- General expert in PowerPoint software and other video editing software. PowerPoint creation of slides for worship and ability to create motion graphics for live streaming.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Cool in high-pressure situations
- Ability to supervise, mentor and train volunteers and staff in AV needs
- Ability to move quickly between multiple projects while continually raising the bar on creative assignments.
- Acceptable background checks as determined by Faith Lutheran Church

Salary : $45,000 - $48,000
