Work Status Details: Full Time | 80.00 Hours Every Two Weeks
Exempt from Overtime: Non-Exempt
Shift Details: Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm, average one weekend per month on-call
Department: Transportation Services | Reports To: Manager-Security & Transportation

Summary:
To provide courier services and safe transportation to patients that qualify for the Transportation Services (Carson Cancer Center, Transitional Care, and other Faith Regional patients) . Will monitor Faith Regional fleet vehicles for maintenance and safety inspections . Will clean exterior and interior of fleet vehicles when schedule allows . Delivers labs and supplies to clinics and hospital as assigned.

Responsibilities:
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Performs duties and responsibilities according to supervisor's direction, following department policies and procedures
2. Carries out the duties and responsibilities of a position without specific supervision with the ability to handle multiple projects/tasks concurrently with organizational detail. General duties include:
- Drive vehicle from individual or central loading area to destination according to assigned schedule.
- Produces accurate records to track mileage, fueling, maintenance, and trips made.
- Operates car phone.
- Routinely verify insurance and licensing is current.
- Interacts with patients in a professional, empathetic manner.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrates knowledge of FRHS Roadside Emergency procedure (maintains first aid and winter kits, obtains road reports)
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of Faith Regional Health Services facilities and departments in either campus when escorting patients within the hospital.
- Escorting Functions (Cart, Wheelchair, and Walk)
- Provides transportation for patients receiving care on both campuses.
- Provides for safe mobility of the patient.
- Know how to operate a wheelchair lift.
- Routinely provides for vehicle maintenance -fueling and upkeep - as well as scheduling maintenance, whether it is on a routine basis or as malfunctions occur.
3. Demonstrates ability to maneuver a minivan, car or lightweight truck to transport materials, patients or staff, using knowledge and skill in driving to avoid sudden motions which may be detrimental to passengers' comfort or integrity of materials being transported.
4. May be called upon to assist passengers into and out of a vehicle demonstrating appropriate skill in securing passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
5. Infection Control
- Utilizes appropriate protective apparel and devices when working with patients.
- Knows the protocol following a blood/body fluid exposure incident.
6. Technical Skills -Demonstrates ability to locate resources
7. Computer Skills
- Can operate Microsoft Outlook and its sub folders including public folders, department folders, FRHS calendar, and department calendar.
- Copy Machine, pager, telephone.
8. Complete Driver Safety Training
Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours and weekends as necessary.

EDUCATION
GED or High School Diploma Preferred
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
SKILLS
Language Skills Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required
Other Certifications/Requirements:
Current, valid driver's license issued in the state of legal residence; Driving record must meet standards set in Driving Safety Program policy required.
Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from the State of Nebraska obtained within six months required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within one full month from date of hire required.
Complete Driver's Safety Training upon hire required.
Must be 21 years of age to apply required.
