Faith School is a preschool located within Faith Lutheran Church in Stephenville TX. We care for children 6 weeks old to 5 years old, and have an After Schooler program for children up to 12 years old. Job description
Faith School Part-Time Teacher
To provide a structured, disciplined and Christian learning environment for preschool aged children within the guidelines of our school's policies and procedures, state minimum standards and curriculum requirements.
Classroom Teacher Openings
We have a need for part-time teachers in all classrooms. Primarily for afternoon shifts. We work with school schedules, and are flexible with hours.
Essential Functions
· Assist lead teacher to design, prepare, implement and evaluate educational lesson plans developed appropriately for the age intended and fulfilling the curriculum requirements.
· Participates in in-service training, continuing education workshops and conferences, staff meetings, respective age-level planning/teacher meetings, conferencing with parents and setting up the classroom.
· Actively participate in directing, observing and listening to the children, setting up learning activities and interacting with them.
· Enrich children’s lives by loving them as our own, tending to their needs with urgency and sharing the Gospel of our lord with them daily.
· Provide each child a secure, nurturing and educational environment to foster self-discovery, a love of learning and a positive self-esteem.
· In partnership with families, help establish a foundation for children which become the springboard to spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Knowledge of current early childhood development methods and teachings.
· Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
· Knowledge of current and up-to-date enrollment requirements.
· Ability to see each child as unique and then providing curriculum to meet individual needs of children in the classroom.
· Skills relating to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance and patience.
· Skills in teaching and discipling young children in a classroom environment.
· Ability to show competency. Good judgment and self-control in working with children.
· Ability to meet yearly requirements as set by state standards for licensing.
· Ability to grow spiritually through prayer, personal devotions and regular involvement in church.
· Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with children and adults.
