Faithful Friends Veterinary Care is an independently owned 2.5 doctor practice that is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Sioux Falls is located on the eastern side of SD. The population is approximately 200,000 in the metro area. We provide primary care and refer overnight cases to a local emergency hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our team.
ABOUT OUR HOSPITAL
- We are located in a modern building with 5 exam rooms and treatment area
- Our equipment includes:
- Digital radiology
- Digital dental radiographs
- Complete in-house laboratory, as well as Idexx referral lab
- Ultrasound capability
- Therapeutic K-Laser
- Fully operational surgery suite
- Fully operational dental table, including digital dental radiographs and ultra-sonic and high speed drill dental equipment
- Electronic medical records
- Complete pharmacy - large inventory of established pharmaceuticals as well as many of the latest developments
- Covetrus Pulse management program with computers in each exam room and throughout the hospital
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with and educate clients
- Provide compassionate patient care
- Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes
- Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
- Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
- Perform diagnostic imaging
- Perform and monitor patient anesthesia
- Prep patients for and assist in surgery
- Perform dental cleanings and take dental radiographs
- Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
- Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
